Cae Mabon, Wales

Join us as we curiously ask what it means to be in right relationship with our bodies, each other, the land, and this great mystery
A fully-inclusive experience from £550 for the week, bursary options available
Mountain hikes and wood-burning hot-tubs await!
Why gather now?
Beltane or Bealtaine, meaning bright fire, is an Iron Age Celtic festival welcoming the return of summer, traditionally celebrated on 1st May. And so we join at the start of May to celebrate as our ancestors did. Remembering in these times, that can often be full of despair and disconnection, that there is still love, abundance, life, and the joy of gathering in community.
This week is a space to be bolstered by the holding of the elements and the power of the circle. It is a place to:
- tune in and bear witness to your own experience, feeling fully what is ready to be felt
- come together to share, to grieve, to rage, to hope - to belong to each other
- re-root in the small joys, creative expression, loving connection and lots of playfulness
- remember the magnificence of this great mystery
This can be challenging work, but that's where the growth happens!
Together we remember that our aliveness matters. We choose to say ‘YES’ to life.
“This retreat was phenomenal. Fun, expansive, explorative, nature based. I learnt so much and more importantly, I felt safe to explore different emotions and experienced myself differently - both in terms of how I felt in my body and how I felt around others. It's also very deshaming and the retreat allows you to reclaim some of your wildness. I couldn't recommend enough, if you are up for something explorative and expansive- this is for you.” - Theresa

Why come?
“My body is open, heart is centred, my mind is expanded and my soul is soaring with knowing. Immense gratitude…” - Nina, Somerset
To meet our different parts with curiosity and compassion, to connect to the richness of our bodies and the deep wisdom that can be found there, to unlearn the bullsh*t and remember our truths, to touch into our unique gifts and the profound power of community, to remember that the world sorely misses us when we hold back, to reclaim our elemental nature, to be curious what it means to be in right relationship to the land and this life, and to remember we belong to this great mystery.
This will be a loving yet courageous space for you to be held and explore your edges.
Who is it for?
This immersion would particularly suit those who are yearning for a deeper felt-sense of connection to the wider web of life, or who already feel this in their bones and would like to be with likeminded souls.
Taking part in this retreat requires adequate mental and physical health to be self-responsible within group processes; we are all facing the horrors and joys of life and your whole self is fully welcome, but do get in touch if you have any concerns or questions about whether this is the right space for you at the moment.
Regretfully the site is not inclusive for wheelchair users and includes staired toilet access, rocky terrain and hiking. Toilets are gender neutral. Please contact us to discuss further if you other have access needs not covered here. Of note, the immersion will include practices that explore where we hold power, privilege, oppression and marginalisation in our lived experience.
Cae Mabon
Cae Mabon is an exquisite space at the foothills of the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), on the edge of a lake, with a magnificent thatched Celtic Roundhouse at its heart, home to many convivial evenings of fireside story and song. Circling this hub-hearth is a family of seven elegant eco-build dwellings. There is a state-of-the-art composting loo, a shingled shower hut and wood-burning cedar hot tub (we like to cook like noodles in a bowl of soup in here)! We are so blessed to be able to offer something in this magical space.
The Support
Megan and Zak Avery have been leading retreat spaces separately for the last six-years and are finally coming together to create something new from their rich experience. They both studied eco-psychology together, which has been a huge influence on where they choose to put their energy.
Megan (she/her) has been developing her skills in supporting others for over 16 years, including: working with people experiencing the effects of complex trauma in the NHS and privately as a senior clinical psychologist, running workshops and retreats, delivering training & supervision, directing the Bristol Yoga Roots Project, and teaching yoga.
Avery (he/him) has been running Menspedition as a rites of passage for the last four years (see Trustpilot reviews here). He is also a founding director of Medicine Festival, a non-profit organisation exploring how we can support people and planet to thrive. Alongside this, he is community and culture director of &Soul, a community project that seeks to bring heart-centered co-living and event spaces into London.
Our chef Grace will be serving up three delicious meals a day. There will be hot drinks available throughout the day.
We will all benefit from the holding of our siblings-in-service, guests who come low-cost in exchange for their support.
The retreat is not a space for individual therapy, but attendees have found our offerings and the loving-holding of the group to be deeply therapeutic and transformative.
Accommodation
Dwellings are various styles of eco-builds in natural materials (read a detailed description and see images of each one here). You will be allocated to share with between 1 - 4 others (our booking form allows you to request to share with specific people). If you want to sleep in a tent or van for more privacy please get in contact with us (this is priced the same as the other spaces). Let us know if you have any further questions.
“There are so many things to say about this retreat, it operates on so many levels – but it's one word, transformative, that runs through my thoughts. If you can go, you should grab it with both hands.” - Gill, Chester (Elemental Woman Retreat)
A fully inclusive adventure from £550 (flexible payment plans and bursaries available). There are more reviews at the bottom of the bookings page.
Are you feeling the call? We would LOVE to welcome you in to this circle of curiosity, compassion and ceremony!
Contact us with any questions, or see you there!
With love
Megan & Avery

“You will meet beautiful people, build a community, be held by epic space holders and come away having learnt so much and in a bubble of love! I can say whole heartedly that I have come away a better person and it has catapulted me into improving and changing my life even more than before. Becoming better for myself and those that I love. Going on this retreat is one of the best decisions I have ever made.” - Sarah, London
